Trinity Laban
Responsible for all client liason, booking, maintenance and engineering in the studio for the 23/24 academic year. Worked on the recording and mixing of live classical performances by students at the Trinity concert hall in Blackheath, as well as engineering sessions for a video series released on various social media platforms showcasing the students from various departments at Trinity Laban.
Classic FM
Worked on several recordings as a freelance assistant engineer at prestigious venues such as St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Hall and St Pauls Knightsbridge. Assisted on setup, recording and live broadcast mixing on location, as well as leading derigs in order to meet tight schedules. Supported the production team and presenters to deliver successful live events alongside the recording process.
Andy Savours
Assisted Mercury Prize shortlisted engineer/mixer/producer Andy Savours at his studio in Willesden Green on several sessions including singles, EPs and albums for bands and solo artists. Offered both engineering assistance and hospitality for artists such as FEET, Flat Party and Patrick Wolf.
Lightship 95
Engineered several sessions at Lightship 95 Recording Studio including gospel choirs, solo vocal sessions and interviews utilising the Calrec S2 console and extensive outboard to deliver high-quality recordings. Managed hospitality for all sessions as the only staff on site in order to ensure a comfortable environment for visiting artists and producers.
World of Sound
Assisted on large-scale recordings at Central London venues Sinfonia Smith Square and St Martin-in-the Fields for classical location company World of Sound. Included Salvation Army brass band performances and orchestral recordings. Used slung microphones in order to best accommodate both the audience sight lines and the video team.
Floating Earth
Worked on the 2022 Edinburgh Military Tattoo with location recording company Floating Earth utilising their OB truck and Lawo console into a Pyramix recording system. Rigged 10 microphones around the venue as well as running 3 MADI streams from FOH alongside comms, and starting the recording process prior to each performance. Assisted on the edit and mix in order to facilitate the delivery of the CD master within an extremely short time frame.
Security Blanket
Recorded a single for band Security Blanket at the University of Surrey, utilising a Neve 88RS console and separate amp rooms in order to record the band largely together in the same room while maintaining absolute separation between sound sources for editing flexibility after recording. Aimed to add creative processing from an early stage in order to ensure compatibility of production decisions with these effects, before continuing to develop the processing at the mixing stage. Mastered the single for release on major streaming services.
Reiss Ellis Beckles
Recording engineer for album Worlds Apart by jazz saxophonist Reiss Ellis Beckles over a 2 day recording session at the the Trinity Laban studio. Used a completely live setup with minimal separation between instruments and largely acoustic monitoring in order to preserve the feeling of a live jazz performance.
James Cook
Recording, editing and mixing on various projects for composer James Cook including editing and mixing 40-minute opera, as well as editing, mixing and video editing for a 3 minute orchestral song.
